Our first official match:
Open Tossuts Agility
On Sunday the 15th of July it was there. The first official match of our agility club Tossuts. There were members of Club Agility Cornella and of course the members of Tossuts. I have to say; having a competition on your own territory is less scary then having it on unknown grounds.
My parents and their dash hound Purley where there to cheer for me and Tequilla. And of course Bob came along with us as well. I have to say he behaved like a very good boy. So sweet. Ria, my mom, has made some photographs while I was competing with Tequilla.
We had to do two different tracks. Each one we had to take two times. The first track had 18 obstacles, some of them where jumps and some of them where contact obstacles like the A-frame, seesaw, table and dog walk. The second round was the fast round called “jumping”. This all has to do with speed. In this round all the contact obstacles are removed. There where 12 obstacles to take in this one.

The first round in the first track went really well. We where fast but made two serious mistakes. One time I had to recall Tequilla for passing a hurdle, the second time she past a hurdle completely. To prevent to loose to much time I did not recall her with this one.
It started with three hurdles next to each other, she jumped the first two but past the third one. I recalled her and made her take the jump, it worked. After this we had to take the round tunnel, the tyre, a hurdle, the long jump, dog walk, the table, the closed hurdle and the A-frame, these went all fast and really well. After the A-frame we had to take another hurdle and this was the one she completely past and ran on to the one behind it. This was our 2nd mistake. After this we had to de the seesaw, two hurdles next to each other, the weave, flexible tunnel and another hurdle; and that was it. I was really happy with this round a very proud on my girl.
The second time we had to do this track I don’t wish to discus at all. Every thing that possibly can go wrong went wrong. Tequilla’s attention was everywhere but on the track…hahaha. Mind you she is a dog and not a robot.
The second track we had to take, the first round was not that impressive. We took all the obstacles but after recalling Tequilla many times. The start of the second track was taking a hurdle then the tyre. Next to the tyre they had placed the round tunnel, which is for a lot of dogs a tricky thing to enter this instead of jumping the tyre. But most of the dogs did well. After the tyre we had to take two hurdles whom where standing square, the long jump, two hurdles next to each other, the weave, another hurdle, the flexible tunnel, the round tunnel and the last hurdle.
In the second time we did this track Tequilla made only one mistake, she went in between the two hurdles next to each other, so I had to recall her and made her jump them. Other than that it was a very good round. We where not the fastest, but I am VERY proud on my girl!
If I am correct we becam 8th in this competition. We received a medal and a diploma for joining this competition.
After the maych we had a big barbeque. A cheerful and festive end of a lovely day.
